Shadowbanned on Reddit? How to keep fans and stay anonymous

Reddit hid your promo account and fans lost your link. How to give them an address that lasts, keep your legal name private and see which platform works.

A creator's posts fade out of a forum feed on a laptop and flow to their own link page on a phone

Your Reddit promo account stops getting views. You keep posting, nobody sees the posts, and nobody tells you why. Reddit has hidden the account without saying so.

You lost more than the account. Everyone who found you through it now has no link to follow and no way to find you again.

Why a new Reddit account won't fix a shadowban

Officially, Reddit replaced shadowbans with suspensions that come with a notice. Creators still report posts vanishing without a word, though, because Reddit's spam filter removes them silently.

Guides that track the filter say it weighs things like:

  • account age, karma and whether your email is verified
  • reports from other users and removals by mods
  • the same post going up in many subreddits
  • subreddit bans and attempts at ban evasion

After a ban, the last item on that list is the one to watch. Under Reddit's rules, opening a new account while your old one is banned counts as ban evasion. It can lead to more site-wide action and count against an appeal you've already filed. Mods also have a detection tool that uses "multiple signals" to flag accounts tied to a banned user.

For an admin-level ban, the only official route is the appeal form at reddit.com/appeal. To check whether you're affected, open that page while logged in, or look for your post under New from a different account.

You can't control the ban. You can control how much the next one costs you.

Give your fans an address Reddit doesn't own

If all your fans follow one account, a ban cuts them off from you. Keep the account and the address separate.

Accounts come and go. The address fans remember shouldn't live on any one platform.

Pick one link-in-bio address that's yours and put it on every profile you run: Reddit, X, Bluesky, Instagram, Threads, TikTok. When one account goes down, the others still point to the same place, and fans who saved the link still reach you.

A few habits make that address easier to keep:

  1. Put the link in your profile, not in your posts. Guides on the spam filter say new accounts that drop links into posts get flagged most often.
  2. Use the same address everywhere, so fans only need to remember one.
  3. Keep a QR code and share card that always point to the page, for places where you can't paste a link.

Keep your legal name off your promo accounts

Every promo account is a chance for someone to connect your stage name to your real one. Most of those connections come from sign-up details, not from anything you post.

These habits help on any promo account, on any platform:

  1. Use an email that has never touched your personal life, and keep it for your creator name only.
  2. Turn off contact syncing. Platforms suggest your account to people in your phone's contacts, and suggest them to you.
  3. Don't connect a promo Instagram to your personal Meta accounts.
  4. Think about which phone number you verify with. A number your family and coworkers have saved can put you in their suggestions.

More subreddits now ask creators to verify with the mods, and many of them want to see your face. Check a subreddit's rules before you spend time building up posts there.

Which new platform actually sends you fans

Spreading out to every platform at once takes time you may not have. Bluesky is worth testing: its guidelines, updated in September 2025, allow mature content as long as it's labelled, and it had 43.5 million registered users in April 2026. Threads and Pinterest are the other two creators often name.

Follower counts won't tell you which one is working, because they don't show whether anyone goes on to your paid page. What you need to see is who arrives at your page, and from where. There are two ways to see it:

MethodWhat you doWhat it tells you
Campaign tagsPut a different tag on the link in each profileViews and clicks for each platform
A key per channelIf you share a code that opens private pages, give Bluesky one code and Threads anotherWhich platform sends people who take the next step

Give each platform a few weeks. Then put your time into the one or two that move people, and drop the rest.

How comein keeps your address in one place

comein is a link-in-bio page built for creators who can lose an account without warning.

  • Your address is comein.cc/yourname and yourname.comein.cc, with a permanent QR code and share card that always point to it.
  • You sign up under the name you post as. Your email is only used to log in and is never shown, and there's no password.
  • The public page is safe for work, with unlimited links, sections, social icons and a choice of templates. Every visitor sees the same page.
  • Keys open private pages. You create named codes, each with its own expiry, use limit and count of uses, and you can revoke any of them whenever you want. Private pages stay off the public page until someone enters a key, and visitors don't need an account.
  • The numbers show where people come from: views, clicks, click-through, referring site, campaign tags, country, device and hour. No visitor IP address is ever stored.
  • You can schedule links and set them to expire, so an old promo link comes down on time.
  • You can export or delete everything in one click.

The public page is free, and it comes with one key and one private page.
